The Center for Forensic Mental Health (CFMH) was established in April 2005.
One of the aims of CFMH is a dedication to developing educational and training systems of forensic mental health for medical and postgraduate students, psychiatrists, co-medical staffs, lawyers, and others in Japan.
Another aim is to develop research on social systems, diagnosis and treatment methods, and neuroscientific issues of offenders with mental disorders and juvenile delinquency.
In Education, the center conducts Social Mental Health, a new program in the Graduate School of Medicine started in 2009.
