Visit from the University of Rennes
On 9 February 2023, a delegation from the University of Rennes in France visited Chiba University. Prof. David Alis, President, Prof. Muriel Hissler, Vice-President, and Prof. Sébastien Le Picard, Vice-President, met with Prof. Toshinori Nakayama, President, Prof. Makoto Watanabe, Executive Vice President for Education, Student and International Affairs, and Prof. Hiroaki Ozawa, Vice President for Educational Reform. The delegation introduced the overview of the University of Rennes. And the attendees discussed what they are working on for international education and explored the possibility of collaboration between the two universities.
After the meeting, the delegation joined the tour of the University Library and Academic Link Center. Prof. Chihiro Kunimoto, Vice-Director of the Academic Link Center, guided both facilities, and it became a good opportunity to learn more about Chiba University.
The University of Rennes is a newly established institution, bringing together the higher educational institutions in France in January 2023. Chiba University is a partner university of the University of Rennes, and this relationship started in 2008 before the University of Rennes 1 became the University of Rennes. We hope this visit will develop further cooperation between the University of Rennes and Chiba University.
