Signing of the MOU for Academic Exchange and Cooperation with the Mekong Institute

Dr. Watcharas LEELAWATH, Executive Director of the Mekong Institute, visited Chiba University on February 11, 2018 for the conclusion of the Memorandum of Understanding for academic exchange and cooperation with Chiba University.
Mekong Institute is an intergovernmental organization founded by the six member countries of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), namely Cambodia, P.R. China (Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, in order to implement and facilitate integrated human resource development, capacity building programs and development projects related to regional cooperation and integration.
From the Mekong Institute, Mr. Sudam PAWAR, Director of the Innovation and Technological Connectivity Department, Ms. Maria Theresa S. MEDIALDIA, Director of the Agricultural Development and Commercialization Department, and Mr. Sa-nga SATTANUN, Program Manager of the Trade and Investment Facilitation, attended the signing ceremony.

After the signing ceremony, they joined the International Symposium "From Mekong Commons and Mekong Community", organized by Dr. Seiichi Igarashi, Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Social Sciences, Chiba University, and made a fruitful contribution to the discussion on Mekong Commons and Mekong Community.

We believe this MOU will develop our mutual relationship and promote further cooperation between our two institutions, and hope this collaboration will deepen the friendship between Mekong Region and Japan.
