About correspondence to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) (the Eighth report)

 As the impact of the novel coronavirus is expanding daily, Chiba University requests you to follow the instructions below. Note that measures may be updated as necessary since the situation is changing every day.

(1) All students, faculty, and staff members are requested to take the temperature every morning before coming to school. If you have symptoms of a cold (such as fever (temperature of 37.5 degrees (Celsius) or higher), cough or sputum), rest at home. In that case, students are granted an authorized absence, and faculty/staff members are given special leave.

(2) Chiba University suspends the attendance of those who have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus infection. The suspension shall be released after full recovery with permission on coming back to school issued by the school doctor /occupational physician of Chiba University.

(3) If you have had close contact with a person tested positive for the novel coronavirus, self-isolate yourself at home for two weeks to observe health conditions, and do not come to school for the period.

(4) Those returned from overseas are requested to self-isolate yourself at home for two weeks to observe health conditions and not to come to school for the period.

(5) Overseas travel should be postponed until further instructions are given.

(6) International students currently staying outside Japan (including new students starting April 2020) should follow instructions given by their faculties/schools.

(7) Judging from the current situations in Chiba Prefecture, events, conferences and gatherings must be postponed at least until Sunday, April 12. (Refer to the Chiba University's criteria for holding events, conferences, and gatherings for details.)

(8) Refrain from any nonessential and non-urgent outings until April 12.

※Regarding the response to the new coronavirus, please pay close attention to information and instruction provided by the Chiba University Safety and Health Organization and observe your health conditions. Also, please take appropriate actions based on the official statement given by the government and Chiba University. Be careful not to be misled by SNS or other unreliable information.

※Faculty and staff members may take special leave when it is difficult to come to work due to the temporary closure of elementary/secondary schools of their child/children.
