Chiba University and Russian State University for the Humanities Celebrate Opening of the "Chiba University Japan Center"

Chiba University and Russian State University for the Humanities have opened our "Chiba University Japan Center" at Russian State University for the Humanities on January 22nd, 2016.

During a signing and ribbon cutting ceremony, Vice-President Makoto Watanabe of Chiba University and Vice-Rector Vera Zabotkina of Russian State University for the Humanities celebrated the conclusion of the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Center between the two universities. They also congratulated those involved with the project, referring to the Center as a remarkable achievement that will benefit the student, researcher, faculty, and staff community for many years to come.

Mr. Otsuki Kotaro, Minister-Councilor of the Japanese Embassy in Moscow joined the celebration as well, and acknowledged the excitement to expand educational opportunities between Russia and Japan.

The history of the partnership with Russian State University for the Humanities started in 2009, and we have been having ongoing active exchanges to this date, and it will continue to expand with this new Center.

"Chiba University Japan Center" embodies the academic research and educational opportunities through its diverse programs, services and facilities. As the exchange hub in Russia, the Center is committed to the intellectual and social development of all who spend time here; students, staff, faculty, alumni, and guests.
